Toggenburg
The Toggenburg goat is one of the oldest Swiss dairy goat breeds, known for its distinctive appearance and superior milk production. Originating from the Toggenburg Valley in Switzerland, this breed is easily recognizable by its medium size, sturdy build, and varying shades of brown coat, from light fawn to a rich chocolate color. They possess distinctive white facial markings that include two stripes running from above the eyes down to the muzzle, which is a signature trait of the breed. Their milk is particularly valued for its excellent cheese-making qualities, having a mild flavor and good butterfat content.
