2Bring your members and animals

Import your roster from the spreadsheet you keep now. Members claim their own profiles, which quietly fixes the addresses and emails you have been chasing, and every verified member gets a free year of Creatures Pro.

3Open your registrar desk

We publish your studbook rules with you and switch on your registration authority. From then on applications arrive with pedigree and documents attached, and approvals mint numbers and certificates for you.

There is no per member charge, no per registration charge to you, and no monthly subscription for running your registry. Most registry software charges an annual license before you record a single animal.

Common questions

We are a small volunteer registry. Is this really for us?

Especially for you. Most registry software is priced for national associations with paid staff. Creatures is free to set up and run, so a breed club with a few hundred animals and a volunteer registrar gets the same herdbook, the same pedigrees, and the same certificates as anyone else.

What happens to the records we already have?

They come with you. You can import your member roster from a spreadsheet and import existing animals and pedigrees, including scans and photos of paper documents. Nothing has to be retyped from scratch, and your historical herdbook stays intact.

Do we have to give up our own website?

No. Keep the site you have. Creatures gives your registry a public profile, a searchable herdbook, and an embeddable member count you can drop into your existing pages. If you would rather we host the whole site, that is included too.

Who decides what counts as registerable?

You do. Your studbook rules stay yours: open, closed, grading up, or appendix, with the tiers and requirements your breed already uses. Creatures applies your rules to each application and shows the registrar what passed and what did not, so the decision is documented rather than remembered.

Can members still register animals the way they do now?

Yes, and it gets easier. Members apply from the animal profile, the application lands in your registrar queue with the pedigree and documents attached, and you approve, reject, or ask for changes. Approved animals get a registration number and a certificate automatically.

How long does setup take?

Claiming your registry profile and importing your roster is same-day work. Before you can issue registration numbers, our team activates your registration authority and publishes your studbook rules with you. That review exists because a registration number is a claim the whole breed relies on, and we are not willing to hand that out automatically.

What does it cost?

Nothing to run your registry, your herdbook, or your member roster. Creatures makes money on optional extras like printed certificates and marketplace sales, not on your registrations.
