Plush Lop
The Plush Lop is a lop-eared rabbit type developed around a plush or rex-influenced coat. It is not the same thing as a standard Rex with upright ears, and it is not simply any lop with a soft coat. Different countries and breeder groups may use the name for miniature, standard, or project lines, usually combining lop ear carriage with the dense, short, velvet-like feel associated with rex fur.
Care depends on the exact line. Lop ears need routine checking because wax, dampness, and infection can be harder to notice, while plush coats can make sore hocks more visible in poorly housed rabbits. Breeders should watch bite, ear carriage, shoulder width, coat density, and whether the rabbit remains sound rather than chasing texture alone. Pet buyers should ask whether the line is recognized, experimental, or a crossbred description, since that affects predictability of size and coat.
