Polish
The Polish rabbit in United States usage is a small, compact show breed with upright ears, bold eyes, and a rounded, balanced body. Despite the name, its older roots are usually placed in Britain rather than Poland, and the American Polish is not the same as the UK Polish. It is also not simply a Netherland Dwarf; American Polish rabbits are small but do not have the same dwarf breed type or head structure.
For owners, the American Polish is a manageable-sized rabbit, but small size does not remove the need for careful handling and safe housing. Show breeders pay close attention to ear length, head, shoulders, depth, and color variety, because a rabbit can look cute while missing the breed's compact balance. Pet buyers should ask whether Polish means the American breed, the British Polish, or a small mixed rabbit labeled from appearance.
