Holland Lop
The Holland Lop is a small lop-eared rabbit developed from dwarf lop work in the Netherlands and popularized heavily in North America. It is shorter and more compact than the American Mini Lop, with a broad head, strong crown, short thick ears that drop cleanly, and a rounded body. The name can cause confusion because in British and Dutch contexts similar small lops may be called Miniature Lops or other national names.
Good Holland Lop management pays attention to structure as much as personality. The crown must support the ear carriage, the body should be compact without becoming pinched, and dwarf-influenced lines can produce very small youngsters that need experienced monitoring. Dense coats and short faces make heat, dental alignment, and clean ventilation worth watching. Families choosing one as a companion should look past color first and assess body condition, handling history, and whether the rabbit is truly a Holland Lop rather than a larger lop mix.
