Holland Lop (US)
The Holland Lop in United States registry use is the small ARBA lop, distinct from the larger American Mini Lop. A correct animal has a compact body, heavy-looking head, full crown, and short lopped ears that frame the face rather than hanging long like an English or French Lop. Many colors and patterns occur, but the breed's identity comes from type and size, not coat color.
United States breeders often sort Holland Lops by ear carriage, shoulder width, depth, bone, and balance as the rabbit matures. Young animals can change substantially, so a promising junior may not keep the same crown or proportions as an adult. Pet homes should be alert to the ordinary lop concerns: ears that need periodic checks, a body shape that should not become overweight, and housing with enough room despite the breed's small size. Clear pedigrees matter when the rabbit is intended for showing or breeding.
