English Spot
The English Spot is a lively, full-arched fancy rabbit recognized by its white body, butterfly nose marking, eye circles, colored ears, herringbone stripe, and side spots. It belongs to the family of running, marked breeds where carriage and movement matter along with pattern. The markings are not random broken color; a show-quality English Spot should look balanced from nose to tail, with clean separation and a racy body under the pattern.
English Spots need room to move because their type is assessed in motion as much as on a table. Breeding them is pattern work: even good matings may produce rabbits with missing chains, heavy marks, or markings better suited for pets than show. The short coat is easy to keep tidy, but white areas show dirty bedding quickly. Buyers should ask whether the line is selected for show pattern, active temperament, or general companionship, since a well-bred English Spot is often more energetic than the rounded compact breeds many people imagine when they think of rabbits.
