Britannia Petite
Britannia Petite is a very small full-arch domestic rabbit descended from the British Polish rabbit and renamed in North America to avoid confusion with the compact American Polish breed. It has a light, racy outline, short upright ears, a narrow head, and an alert posture that makes it look closer to a tiny hare than to a rounded dwarf. Senior show animals are typically around two to two and a half pounds, depending on the standard, with accepted colors such as ruby-eyed white, black, chestnut agouti, chocolate, blue, and broken patterns varying by registry.
This is a breed for careful handling. Britannia Petites are quick, athletic rabbits, and many lines are more reactive than heavier pet breeds, so they suit patient adults, older children under guidance, and exhibitors who enjoy training a rabbit to pose. Their small size reduces feed use but not their need for exercise, secure housing, and daily observation. Breeders select strongly for arch, ear length, sharp outline, and clean color while also watching teeth, fertility, and temperament, since extreme tiny rabbits leave little room for structural faults.
