Mini Oberhasli
The Mini Oberhasli is a miniature dairy goat created from Oberhasli and Nigerian Dwarf ancestry. Standard Oberhaslis trace to Swiss dairy stock and are associated with rich bay or chamoisee coats with black markings, although miniature programs may produce a wider range of colors depending on registry rules and pedigree. The goal is a small, refined goat with the alert look, erect ears, level topline, and efficient dairy build of the Oberhasli, paired with a size that suits homesteads, youth handlers, and smaller barns.
Mini Oberhaslis fit herds that value quiet dairy temperament and practical milk production without the space demands of a full-size doe. They still need secure fencing, dry shelter, a clean kidding area, a milk stand if being milked, and feed adjusted to growth, pregnancy, and lactation. In breeding stock, color should not outweigh udder quality, sound feet, parasite resilience, and reliable kidding. Because miniature dairy goats are often graded by generation and height, paperwork and mature size estimates are worth checking before purchase.
