Pumi
The Pumi is a lively and energetic dog breed that hails from Hungary, where it was originally developed as a versatile herding dog. This medium-sized breed is instantly recognizable by its distinctive curly coat, expressive face, and large, erect ears that often give it an almost whimsical appearance. Pumik, the plural form of Pumi, are well-known for their intelligence and agility, making them exceptional at tasks requiring quick thinking and fast reflexes. They possess a compact, well-balanced body, usually standing between 15 to 18.5 inches at the shoulder, and typically weighing between 22 to 29 pounds.
Their coats can come in a range of colors, including shades of gray, black, white, and fawn, with the texture being curly and wavy, requiring regular grooming to maintain its ideal appearance. The Pumi has a spirited temperament and is naturally alert and protective, making it an excellent watchdog. These dogs thrive on mental and physical activity and are best suited for active families or individuals who can provide them with ample exercise and engagement.
