Siberian
Siberian cats are natural-origin longhaired cats from Russia, shaped by cold climates into a muscular body, rounded contours, and a weather-resistant triple coat. They appear in many colors and patterns, including tabby, smoke, silver, and the colorpoint form often called Neva Masquerade. The breed is substantial without being coarse, with a seasonal coat that can look very different between winter fullness and summer shedding.
Households should expect grooming to change with the season. A Siberian may need only regular combing most of the year, then more serious coat work during heavy sheds so mats do not form behind the ears, under the legs, or at the tail base. These cats are often confident climbers and benefit from sturdy furniture and interactive play. Breeders commonly discuss heart screening, parentage, and whether colorpoint lines are accepted in the registry being used.
