Gannan

The Gannan yak is a distinctive breed native to the Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Gansu Province, China. Revered for their adaptability to the harsh, high-altitude environments of the Tibetan Plateau, these yaks are essential to the livelihood of local herding communities. Gannan yaks are characterized by their stocky build, dense woolly coats, and impressive endurance, allowing them to thrive in cold, rugged terrains.
