Siamese
A Siamese mouse is a colorpoint variety of the domestic fancy mouse, Mus musculus. Like the Siamese pattern in several other animals, pigment is darkest on the cooler parts of the body, producing shaded points on the nose, ears, feet, tail, and sometimes the rump. The body is typically pale beige to warm cream rather than plain white. Common point colors include seal point, blue point, chocolate point, and lilac point, with depth and contrast developing as the mouse grows.
Siamese mice do not need different care from other pet mice, but their color can be affected by age, molt, and room temperature. Young mice may look faintly marked at first, and cooler conditions can deepen the points; chilling a mouse to improve color is poor husbandry. Fanciers select for even body shading and distinct points without smutty patches where the standard calls for clarity. In a pet setting, the same practical checks matter most: correct sexing, compatible housing, clean bedding, and calm handling.
