Georgian Grande
The Georgian Grande is a modern American horse breed developed by crossing American Saddlebred influence with draft-horse blood and, in some lines, related heavier breeds such as Friesians. The goal is a tall, substantial riding and driving horse with the Saddlebred's animation and a heavier horse's bone and presence. It is a created breed rather than an old landrace, so individual type can vary depending on the balance of saddle and draft ancestry.
Owners may use Georgian Grandes for dressage, driving, trail riding, exhibitions, and pleasure riding when the horse's size and energy suit the job. Buyers should look at conformation, movement, training, and registration details instead of assuming every cross fits the breed purpose equally well. Large horses need careful growth management, saddle fit, hoof care, and conditioning before demanding work. Breeders do best when they select for rideable temperament and structural soundness, not just height, hair, or dramatic motion.
