Vorwerk

The Vorwerk is a distinctive and attractive dual-purpose chicken breed originating from Germany, developed in the early 20th century by poultry enthusiast Oskar Vorwerk. This breed is renowned for its striking appearance, characterized by a buff body contrasted with a lustrous black head, neck, and tail, giving it an elegant and eye-catching look. Vorwerks are medium-sized birds, with hens typically weighing around 5.5 pounds and roosters around 7.5 pounds, making them suitable for both egg production and meat.
