Pixie-Bob
The Pixie-Bob is a domestic cat breed developed in the Pacific Northwest of the United States to resemble a small bobcat in outline and pattern. It usually has a muscular body, short tail, heavy brow, pear-shaped head, and brown spotted tabby coat. Some registries allow polydactyl feet in the breed, which adds to its rugged look. Stories about bobcat ancestry are part of the breed's folklore, but modern Pixie-Bobs are treated as domestic cats.
Pixie-Bob owners should manage them as substantial, active house cats rather than as wild hybrids. The coat may be short or long and needs routine grooming, with extra checks for longhaired cats and for polydactyl nails that can hide between toes. Breeders should document tail length, toe count, pattern, and temperament while keeping health and mobility central. Buyers attracted to the wild look should ask for registration and health records, not claims that depend on unproven wild ancestry.
