Albino
An albino ball python is a recessive color morph of Python regius that lacks normal dark melanin, replacing the usual brown and black pattern with white, yellow, orange, or lavender-toned markings and pink to red eyes. It is one of the better established ball python morphs and is often used in combination projects because its bright contrast changes the look of pied, clown, lavender, and many pattern genes. A visual albino has two copies of the albino trait, while a het albino carries one copy without necessarily looking different from a normal ball python.
Albino ball pythons need the same enclosure temperatures, humidity range, hides, prey sizing, and low-stress handling as other ball pythons. Some individuals may be more sensitive to intense light, so shaded hides and moderate display lighting are sensible. Breeders should keep albino line and pairing records clear because visual albinos, hets, and other albino-compatible projects can be confused by appearance alone. Buyers should ask whether the animal is visual albino, possible het, or proven het, especially if future breeding plans matter.
