Phantom
The phantom reticulated python is a captive color and pattern morph of Python reticulatus, typically recognized for a softened, hazier version of the normal reticulated pattern. Many phantoms appear lighter or more muted, with reduced contrast and a washed silver, gray, or tan cast depending on the line and any added morphs. Breeders use phantom both as a stand-alone look and in combinations where it can change the depth and cleanliness of other colors.
Keeping a phantom is not different from keeping any other reticulated python. The snake still needs secure, spacious housing, stable heat, humid conditions that support clean shedding, and feeding appropriate for a large constrictor. Because phantom can be visually subtle, especially in hatchlings or mixed projects, buyers should look for clear breeding information rather than relying only on photographs. The morph has no useful link to smaller adult size, so anyone seeking a more compact animal should ask specifically about dwarf or super dwarf ancestry and the size of the parents.
