Avondale Icelandics LLC breeds Icelandic horses in Redmond, Washington, in the Puget Sound region near Seattle. Founded in 2011, the farm is a member of the United States Icelandic Horse Congress and follows a schedule of comprehensive health screenings for soundness and conformation.

Foals are raised in a family-oriented setting with daily turnout, varied terrain for conditioning, and consistent early handling to foster a balanced temperament. Each horse benefits from regular farrier and veterinary care, pasture rotation and access to wooded trails that support natural movement. Owner Doreen Shoda draws on her background in equine therapy to emphasize gentle groundwork and positive interactions.

Their broodmares trace back to import lines from Iceland, and several offspring have earned awards in local gait and trail competitions. This combination of thoughtful breeding and hands-on management helps each horse develop the signature tölt and a trusting bond with riders.
