American Modern Flight

The American Modern Flight is a fancy and flying pigeon breed from the United States, related to the flight-pigeon tradition but selected for a more modern show style. It is generally valued for type, feather quality, markings, and the alert carriage expected of flight breeds. The word modern helps separate it from older or more strictly flying strains.

American Modern Flights need a loft that supports both condition and activity. Even when kept for exhibition, they benefit from exercise, clean baths, and careful feeding so feather and body quality stay sharp. Breeders should select for the required markings, station, vigor, fertility, and enough flying character to preserve breed identity. New keepers should ask whether a line is show-focused, flying-focused, or a blend of both.
