Lavender
Trait
Lavender leopard geckos are leopard geckos selected for a soft purple-gray or violet wash in the body pattern, usually showing through the pale areas between darker markings. Lavender is best understood as a color expression or line-bred influence rather than a single simple morph. It can appear more obvious in juveniles and may fade, shift, or become muted as the gecko matures, especially when brighter yellow, tangerine, snow, or albino traits are also present.
For keepers, lavender animals are managed like other leopard geckos, with attention to stable warmth, dry hides, a humid shedding hide, mineral supplementation, and steady insect feeding. The main practical issue is evaluation. Shed condition, stress coloration, lighting, and age can all change how much lavender shows, so careful photos under neutral light matter. Breeders working with lavender lines usually select slowly over generations and avoid promising that a young gecko will keep the exact color seen at sale.
