Albino
An albino leopard gecko is an Eublepharis macularius morph with reduced or altered dark pigment, producing lighter markings than a normal wild type gecko. In leopard geckos, albino is not one single universal line; Tremper, Bell, and Rainwater albino are separate recessive lines that should not be mixed casually if a breeder wants predictable results. Albinos may show tan, lavender, yellow, orange, or pinkish tones depending on the line and other morphs present.
Care is mostly the same as for other leopard geckos, with secure terrestrial housing, belly heat or a well-managed heat gradient, hides, calcium support, and appropriately sized insects. Some albinos may be more sensitive to bright light, so subdued lighting and good hides are sensible. Breeding requires line-specific records, because pairing different albino lines can produce normal-looking offspring that carry separate recessive genes.
