Carrot Head
Carrot Head is a descriptive leopard gecko trait for animals with noticeable orange coloration on the head. It is most often seen in tangerine, hypo, albino, or other color-focused projects, and it is better understood as a line-bred color expression than as a standalone genetic morph. The amount and placement of orange can vary widely, from a light wash to a strong cap of color.
Good husbandry supports the gecko's health, but it does not replace genetics. Diet, temperature, shed condition, age, and photography can all affect how orange a Carrot Head appears, so buyers should be cautious about heavily edited images or vague claims. Breeders who select for the trait should track how color develops from hatchling to adult and avoid sacrificing structure, fertility, or temperament for head color.
