Aussiedoodle
An Aussiedoodle is a planned cross between an Australian shepherd and a poodle, with standard, miniature, and toy-influenced sizes depending on the poodle parent. It is sometimes called an Aussiepoo, but it is not a fixed breed in the way a kennel-club Australian shepherd is. Puppies may inherit herding drive, poodle-style problem solving, merle or tri-color patterning, and coats ranging from loose waves to dense curls. Littermates can differ a great deal in size, shedding, and temperament, especially in first-generation crosses.
This cross suits people who want an active companion and are prepared for training, grooming, and mental work. A curly or fleece-like coat may need professional clipping and regular combing, and no Aussiedoodle should be assumed to be hypoallergenic without meeting the individual dog. Responsible breeders explain the generation, avoid risky merle-to-merle pairings, and screen parent dogs for eyes, hips, elbows, and inherited conditions found in both breeds. Many Aussiedoodles enjoy agility, scent games, therapy visits, or family life where they are not left idle for long stretches.
