Tanglecross

Tanglecross raises greater Swiss mountain dogs in Brentwood, Tennessee, just south of Nashville. Dan Harrold, who runs the program alongside his wife Elena, has a history with the breed that stretches back to the mid-1990s, when his first greater Swiss mountain dog, a dog named Chance, earned a championship through the American Rare Breed Association before the AKC had fully recognized the breed.

After a period away from Swissies, Dan reconnected with the breed and restarted the program with a female named Rada, whose first litter arrived in the summer of 2016. The program has ties to international lines as well, having brought in a male from a Slovak breeder in exchange for one of Rada's pups. Tanglecross sits on two acres in Brentwood, giving the dogs ample room to live and move. The program also participates in dog shows, specialty events, weight pulls, and trail activities.
