Raymond Mast

Raymond Mast and Barbara Sue Mast are Percheron breeders in Belle Rive, IL, Franklin County and southern Illinois near St. Louis. They have been raising draft horses for over a decade and maintain active membership in the Percheron Horse Association, following recommended health testing protocols. Foals and adult horses share spacious pastures and a barn with soft bedding, where daily handling supports gentle, confident temperaments.

Visitors are welcome to tour the family-run farm and learn about draft horse heritage in a relaxed setting. Many graduates of their program have gone on to trail and farm work, with some competing in draft horse shows. Raymond and Barbara Sue take pride in honest feedback from owners and offer ongoing advice on training and care.

All horses undergo regular hoof trimming and dental checks to support long-term soundness. Support and records remain available for every horse they place, reflecting their commitment to each animal’s welfare.
