Live Oak Farms

Live Oak Farms raises Buckeye chickens in Woodruff, South Carolina, about 20 miles southeast of Spartanburg in the Upstate region of the state. Chuck and Allison Schaum have been working with the breed since around 2010, making theirs one of the longer-running sources for Buckeye chickens for sale in South Carolina.

The farm is family owned and operated, spanning 80 acres, and runs under a Certified Naturally Grown framework. All animals are raised on pasture around the clock, and no growth hormones or antibiotics are used in their care. The program's focus on heritage breeds reflects a commitment to raising livestock in step with natural growing standards rather than commercial production methods.
