Diamond D Gelbvieh, operated by Dennis Gustin and family, raises gelbvieh cattle in Medina, North Dakota, in the south-central part of the state roughly 60 miles southeast of Bismarck. The operation has been breeding registered gelbvieh seedstock since 1982, giving it more than four decades of focused experience with the breed.

The herd is fully registered with the American Gelbvieh Association and includes both purebred animals and Balancer composites in red and black coat colors. Calves are raised on grass and their mother's milk without creep feeding, a deliberate choice to better identify maternal lines and evaluate first-calf heifer consistency. After weaning, animals are developed on a total mixed ration of ground corn, silage, hay, and distillers grain.

Every animal in the program carries genomically enhanced EPDs, has been parent verified, and has been tested for homozygous polled status and coat color.
