Bar T Bar Ranch Inc
Bar T Bar Ranch Inc has raised Gelbvieh and Balancer cattle on the high desert range near Winslow, Arizona, roughly midway between Flagstaff and Albuquerque, since the operation was established as an Arizona agribusiness in 1924. Bob Prosser represents the fourth generation of the Prosser and Chilson families to run the ranch, which integrated Angus and Gelbvieh into its traditional Hereford herd during the 1980s to produce the versatile Balancer cattle the program is known for today.
Gelbvieh cattle for sale in Arizona from Bar T Bar carry genetics developed through more than three decades of consistent culling for fertility, feed efficiency, and performance in arid, low-rainfall range conditions. The ranch has ranked among the top producers of Dams of Merit and Dams of Distinction in the Gelbvieh breed nationally for 25 consecutive years, and Bob Prosser was recognized as the American Gelbvieh Association's Breeder of the Year in 2017.
Feed efficiency testing has been a core part of the program since 2010, with selection emphasis placed on moderate mature size, calving ease, carcass merit, and soundness. The ranch also produces Southern Balancers — incorporating Beefmaster and Santa Gertrudis genetics — for buyers in heat-stressed environments across the Southwest and Mexico.
