Cowlitz River

Cowlitz River, Pygora goats, Onalaska, WA, Lewis County and the Olympic Peninsula near Olympia. Maggy Graves at Cowlitz River has been raising Pygora goats for several years and maintains membership in the American Dairy Goat Association. They follow recommended health screenings, including fecal parasite testing, hoof trimming, and routine vaccinations. The herd grazes on rotational pasture with access to a three-season shelter, and each kid is gently handled to encourage a calm temperament. Kids stay with their dams until weaning age to ensure proper maternal care and supportive early development.

Fiber artists praise the soft, lustrous fleece that grows in well-defined locks. Many local spinners note consistent fiber diameter and easy preparation for hand spinning.
