Carolina Chinchillas

Carolina Chinchillas, run by Tiffany Whitlow, raises chinchillas in Roxboro, North Carolina, along the Virginia border — putting the ranch within easy reach of the greater Durham and Research Triangle region.

The program operates as a hobby ranch with a focus on show-quality standard and mutation chinchillas, offering animals suited for both pet and breeding homes. Tiffany has been active in the organized chinchilla show community through both the Mutation Chinchilla Breeders Association (MCBA) and the Empress Chinchilla Breeders Cooperative (ECBC), having served as President of the MCBA Atlantic Branch and President of the ECBC Southern Atlantic Branch, as well as a Region III Director on the ECBC National Board.

The ranch produces both non-angora and angora chinchillas, with an emphasis on pairing animals intentionally to improve quality with each generation. Alongside its chinchillas for sale in North Carolina, Carolina Chinchillas supplies custom-made cage accessories including fleece liners, hammocks, ledges, and chinchilla-safe feed, reflecting a hands-on approach to the animals' day-to-day care. Visits are by appointment only.
