Brittain Farms LTD. has been raising Gelbvieh cattle in Falun, Alberta since Kelly and Colleen Brittain began their commercial herd in 1990, adding purebred Gelbvieh genetics to the operation in 1992. The farm sits in central Alberta, roughly an hour south of Edmonton, and spans approximately 1,400 acres of hay, grain, and pasture land.

A core focus of the program is maintaining hybrid vigor while drawing on the strengths that purebred Gelbvieh cattle bring to a commercial setting. The herd runs around 150 cows, with 25 replacement females retained each year.
