White Crested
The white crested guinea pig is a short-coated cavy marked by a single white rosette, or crest, centered on the forehead. In stricter show descriptions, the body color is otherwise solid and the white should be limited to the crest, which separates it from broader broken or pied patterns. The breed has a neat, smooth outline, so the small crest becomes the main visual point.
White cresteds are generally maintained like other short-coated guinea pigs, with routine brushing, nail care, balanced forage, and close attention to dental and digestive health. Breeders working toward a show standard focus on crest placement, clean color boundaries, and body type, since misplaced white markings can change how the animal is classified. Pet owners can simply enjoy the look while still prioritizing temperament, companionship, and good husbandry.
