Zhejiang White Goose
The Zhejiang white goose is a white-feathered Chinese domestic goose associated with Zhejiang Province on China's east coast. It appears in English-language poultry references as a regional white goose type, sometimes overlapping with Zhedong white goose depending on translation or source. Birds are generally kept as practical farm geese rather than show birds, valued for pale plumage, table use, eggs, down and feather products, and performance in humid lowland farming systems.
Management is similar to other medium Chinese goose lines: good pasture or green feed reduces feed costs, while clean water and dry night housing help maintain feather condition and egg quality. Breeding flocks should be chosen for fertility, early gosling vigor, body shape, and consistent white plumage if the line is being maintained for its regional identity. Outside China, buyers should ask how the name has been verified, since many white geese are sold under broad labels.
