Uno Grande Mastiffs

Uno Grande Mastiffs has been breeding English mastiffs in Williston, Vermont since 2001, with owner Rebecca Edwards Wilson building the program after originally starting it in metro Atlanta, Georgia before relocating to northwestern Vermont, near Burlington.

The program selects for size, temperament, and health as its core priorities. On the health testing side, breeding dogs are DNA tested for progressive retinal atrophy (PRA) and degenerative myelopathy (DM), and OFA evaluated for hips, elbows, and heart. Dogs are also AKC registered, and the program has a showing history alongside its companion focus.

The mastiffs at Uno Grande live as part of the household and have access to a small farm property where they can move and play freely. The whelping setup is designed to let mothers nurse and bond with puppies while also giving them space to take breaks, a deliberate choice that reflects the care philosophy behind the program. Families who bring home a mastiff from Uno Grande receive ongoing advice and support for the life of the dog.
