Epic Mastiffs

Epic Mastiffs raises mastiffs in Waseca, Minnesota, about an hour south of the Twin Cities. Lisa Armstrong founded the program after developing a long-standing interest in the breed and committing to the research, study of pedigrees, and conformation work that serious breeding requires.

The program centers on producing healthy companion dogs with sound temperaments that conform to the mastiff standard. Health testing in the breeding program covers hips, elbows, patellas, thyroid, cardiac function, eyes, degenerative myopathy, cysterniaria, CMR, and PRA. Epic Mastiffs is listed as a member breeder with the Mastiff Club of America.

The kennel has accumulated a notable show record. Two females, Danni and Breena, have been inducted into the MCOA Hall of Fame for producing six and five champions respectively. The kennel's Epics Farmer Girl earned Winners Bitch at the 2014 MCOA National Specialty, finished her championship at eight months, and went on to earn her Grand Championship at ten months — achievements that, at the time, made her the youngest mastiff on record to hold both titles.
