The program operates under the Top Dogg K9 Foundation, a nonprofit organization with ties to disabled military veterans, and the breeding side of the operation has roots going back to 1987.

One of the more distinctive aspects of the program is its focus on rare color variations. The kennel maintains a white giant schnauzer — one of only a handful known to exist in the United States — alongside black and black-and-silver dogs. White and black-and-silver colorings are not currently recognized by the AKC, yet the program deliberately works with these lines.

Puppies can leave with early obedience foundations already in place, including leash work, basic commands, crate training, and an introduction to potty training. The foundation also connects its breeding work to a broader mission of supporting veterans, with deposits going directly toward the nonprofit's efforts to provide service dogs to disabled military personnel.
