TJB Gelbvieh

TJB Gelbvieh has been raising Gelbvieh cattle in Chickamauga, Georgia since 1988, making it one of the longer-running Gelbvieh programs in the Southeast. The farm sits at the foot of Lookout Mountain in northwest Georgia, roughly 15 miles south of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Dr. Todd Bickett, a large animal veterinarian by training, founded the program after encountering Gelbvieh cattle through his veterinary practice and was drawn to the breed's performance, disposition, and milking ability. The operation is family-owned and run alongside his wife Alisa and their daughters Kelsie and Katelyn.

The program built its foundation on elite genetics sourced from respected herds, including Nelson Gelbvieh Ranch and Beartooth Ranch, and has long centered on an embryo transfer program with a focus on dominant donor females. TJB Gelbvieh operates under what it calls a "Maternal Magic" philosophy, reflecting a core belief that the strength of any breeding program lies in the female. The farm currently produces approximately 100 calves in a fall calving season and also raises Balancer cattle alongside its purebred Gelbvieh herd. Cattle and genetics from this program have earned recognition at shows including the AGJA National Classic and the Southeast Regional Gelbvieh Show, and animals have reached herds in multiple states.
