Still Waters Rabbitry

Still Waters Rabbitry raises silver fox rabbits in northwest Arkansas, not far from Fayetteville, making it one of the more accessible sources for silver fox rabbits in AR for families and homesteaders alike. The operation started as a whole-family project, with every member of the household taking part in the daily care of the animals.

Breeding stock is selected with an eye toward temperament and breed standard, and rabbits that fall outside the standard are culled rather than passed along. Frequent handling keeps the animals calm, and tattooed, pedigreed stock is available for those looking to start or improve their own rabbitry. The program works across six recognized silver fox colors — black, chocolate, blue, lilac, white, and tort — and also includes dwarf Papillon rabbits, added in 2023.

Still Waters holds memberships in the American Rabbit Breeders Association, the National Silver Fox Rabbit Club, and the NWA Rabbit Enthusiasts, and operates as a closed rabbitry to protect herd health. The fur side of the operation extends beyond breeding: hides from rabbits that do not meet the breed standard are tanned and used to produce fly-tying strips and dubbing.
