Steve Nicklas

Steve Nicklas and Linda Nicklas, Percheron horses, Purcell, Oklahoma, have been breeding draft horses for more than a decade in McClain County and central Oklahoma near Oklahoma City. They are members of the Percheron Horse Association, participate in annual breed exhibitions and follow health guidelines with routine veterinary checks, pre-breeding evaluations and genetic screenings.

Their herd lives on rotational pastures of native grasses with access to sheltered stalls and paddocks, and foals receive early handling to develop calm, adaptable temperaments and strong social bonds. The farm has remained in the family since its founding, blending traditional draft horse farming with gentle training methods.
