Slate Acre'S

Slate Acre'S is a Percheron horse breeder in Baltic, Ohio, in Tuscarawas County and the Canton metro area. It has been part of national draft horse registries and follows recommended health testing protocols to support sound development. Owned and managed by Dave Hershberger, the farm blends family values with careful selection to nurture durable, balanced Percherons.

Its mares and foals live on gently rolling pastures with regular veterinary and farrier care, and are handled daily to encourage calm temperaments and solid groundwork. The farm mixes time-honored draft horse traditions with hands-on socialization and basic training.

Many of its Percherons go on to work in riding schools, community farms or seasonal therapy programs where their steady nature is a valued asset. The stable’s program also places emphasis on early handling and balanced nutrition so foals develop trust and confidence from a young age.
