Shady Oaks

Shady Oaks, miniature zebu, Phoenix, Arizona, is located in Maricopa County and the Sonoran Desert near Tucson. Shady Oaks has been breeding miniature zebu for several years and holds membership in the National Zebu Breeders Association with routine health testing for key genetic conditions.

Each calf is raised on open pasture with daily handling to promote a calm temperament and early socialization. The farm uses rotational grazing and works with a local veterinarian to maintain preventive care. Sue Anne Wilson’s herd has placed in regional livestock competitions and often supports local educational farm visits. Animals live in herd groups with access to shelter, fresh water and balanced nutrition.

Miniature zebu are known for adaptability to diverse climates and a gentle nature, and one recent visitor noted the herd’s relaxed behavior, well-maintained facilities and sustainable and efficient small-acreage pasture management practices.
