Samuel Butters

Samuel Butters is a breeder of Percheron horses in Charlotte, MI, Eaton County and mid-Michigan near Lansing. With more than a decade of experience he participates in the Percheron Horse Association and follows established health-testing protocols.

His horses live on open pastures with regular handling to encourage calm temperaments and socialization from an early age. He operates from a family-owned farm where each mare and foal receive individual attention. His foals have been placed in driving events and farm work, reflecting a balanced approach to breeding utility and temperament.

Foals are introduced to simple groundwork exercises under low-stress conditions before weaning to support confidence and ease transitions into training stables. The farm includes a climate-controlled stable and round-pen for winter conditioning and early handling sessions. Regular visits from a local large-animal veterinarian ensure ongoing health monitoring and timely care.
