Rockin G Ranch

Rockin G Ranch is a family-owned operation in Wakeman, Ohio, raising Highland cattle, miniature Highland cattle, Galloway cattle, and White Park cattle on 50 acres in north-central Ohio, roughly an hour southwest of Cleveland. Owner Nellie Gisbtecht and her family have been working with this mix of heritage breeds since the ranch got its start in 1993, when the herd was made up of standard-sized Scottish Highlands on a farm in western Wisconsin.

After relocating to Ohio to be closer to family, the ranch downsized to its current 50 acres and, in 2017, began transitioning toward miniature Highlands alongside the existing program. Today the herd ranges from micro minis to midsize animals, with Galloways and White Park cattle rounding out the mix. The cattle have access to pasture, creeks, and wooded areas across the property, and receive daily hands-on handling to encourage calm, manageable temperaments.
