Sabrina Massie, who serves on the board of directors of the Purebred Mini Jersey Society, built the herd after years of hands-on experience with dairy cattle, transitioning deliberately from Guernseys to miniature Jerseys to suit a small-farm model.

The herd is maintained exclusively as A2/A2 stock, with each animal selected for that milk-protein profile. Calves are raised alongside their mothers and separated only for once-daily milking, a practice the farm credits with giving young animals a strong start. The cows graze on pasture nearly all day, supplemented with organic hay sourced locally in Pittsboro, and pastures are rotated for grass quality and parasite management.
