Northern Lights

Northern Lights, Percheron horses, Rothsay, MN in northwestern Minnesota near Fargo. They have more than a decade of experience working with Percheron horses and maintain active memberships in the American Percheron Horse Association and other draft horse clubs. Each brood mare and stallion undergoes annual veterinary exams, and foals receive genetic screening alongside early vaccination schedules tailored to draft breeds. The herd follows a rotational grazing model that supports hoof health and mental enrichment, and daily groundwork introduces young horses to basic handling and light pulling work.

The farm sits on a century-old homestead and hosts local heritage farming events that showcase draft capabilities in plowing and logging. Visitors appreciate the Millers’ thoughtful explanations of each horse’s lineage and calm temperament. Pastures are bordered by woodlands where horses find shade and seasonal browsing. Yearling and mature horses leave with detailed health records and lifetime support for their transition to new homes.
