Nordal Limousin

Nordal Limousin, operated by Rob Garner, raises Limousin cattle in Simpson, Saskatchewan, in the agricultural heartland of the province roughly two hours east of Saskatoon. The operation also works with Black Angus and Red Angus cattle alongside its Limousin program.

The herd is managed under genuine range conditions, with cows calving in open fields rather than confined settings. A consistent focus on birth weight control and calving ease runs through both sire and dam selection, and high fluctuations in birth weights are not accepted within the program. Sires across the Limousin and Angus lines are chosen specifically for their reliability in maintaining that ease-of-calving standard.

Cows at Nordal are expected to perform with minimal inputs, running late into fall and winter on stockpiled grass or swath-grazed pasture. The cow families that remain in the herd have earned their place through sustained production in Saskatchewan's demanding climate. Alongside growth, performance, maternal ability, and disposition, carcass quality is treated as a core selection priority — making Nordal a source of Limousin cattle in Saskatchewan suited to commercial producers with an eye on end-product value.
