Miller Gelbvieh is a family enterprise with roots going back to late 1990, when the operation got its start with the purchase of purebred and percentage bred stock from established herds. From the beginning, the program has centered on females that are fertile, high-volume milkers with good udders and sound dispositions — cows built to raise a stout calf every year and breed back on schedule.

The operation has moved to a strictly AI and embryo transfer approach to capture genetics from leading sires across the country. Alongside purebred Gelbvieh, the program has placed growing emphasis on Balancers — cattle that are one-quarter to three-quarters Gelbvieh with the balance coming from Angus or Red Angus of known parentage.
