Mountain Meadow Farm

Mountain Meadow Farm raises pygora goats in Franklin, North Carolina, in the southern Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina — about an hour and a half from Asheville. Beverly VanHook-Schrey and Herb Schrey run the operation with a focus on both quality animals and the fiber those animals produce.

The herd is tested and maintained free of CL, CAE, and Johne's disease, and all pygora goats leave the farm either pre-registered or permanently registered with the Pygora Breeders Association. The farm's goats and fleece have earned top awards at Pygora Breeders Association sanctioned shows, and the fiber has gained recognition across the Southern Appalachian region.

Beyond raising pygora goats for sale in North Carolina and surrounding states, Mountain Meadow Farm processes and sells the fiber itself — offering yarns and roving blended with Cormo, Merino, silk, qiviut, yak, and cashmere. The farm also freely shares goat care information with new and prospective owners, reflecting a broader commitment to the health of pygora herds beyond their own pastures.
