Mervin Gingerich

Mervin and Nancy Gingerich are breeders of Percheron horses in Kalona, IA, Washington County and southeastern Iowa near Iowa City. They have been raising Percherons for over a decade and maintain membership in the Percheron Horse Association, with each mare and stallion receiving annual veterinary examinations and genetic screening. A herd of twelve broodmares rotates through spring foaling, and foals receive daily handling from birth to encourage confidence. Their horses live on pasture-based paddocks with regular farrier care and a balanced feed program.
